Day 1: Love

pieter-en-amanda

Today is our 5th wedding anniversary.

It hasn’t been easy always but I am thankful that we stuck through and came out on the other side.

I am happy to say that I am married to my biggest fan and best friend. He is always there when I need him. I wrote all about it in 2014.

So what makes a perfect marriage? I don’t believe that there is something like that. What I do believe is that Jesus needs to be the centre of the relationship.

31 Days of Faith, Hope and love

I haven’t blogged in a long time. I have a few reasons for that one of them was the unexpected mountain I had to climb.

I took part in the 31 Days challenge in 2014 with the title 31 days of blessings.

With this 31 days challenge 2016 I hope to get back into writing. I chose the theme Faith, Hope and Love because I want to write about everything and nothing all at once.

Welcome and I hope you enjoy your visit!

Amazing Grace: Jesus was born: The role of Jesus in my life

The role of Jesus in my life.

Jesus has always played a very important role in my life. I am blessed to have a testimony.

I believe that Jesus is the Alpha and the Omega the beginning and the end.

I have questions about Christmas- the real meaning and how are Christians supposed to celebrate it? What is it about? Should Christians have decorations and Christmas trees or should they just quietly celebrate it.

Please join me on this journey of discovery.

I’ve come across some fellow bloggers that are blogging specifically about Advent and Christmas. Please stop by their blogs and have a look.

So here we are…

So I haven’t written anything since February. I gave my last post the title: An unexpected mountain to climb little did I know how high that mountain would be. I declared 2015 a year of grace back in January and is was and still is.

We as family and friends have been climbing all year and we reached the peak last Wednesday morning 14 October 2015 at 00:15 am when my dearest Mom went to meet her Savoir.

It was a journey full of ups and downs and I’ve learnt a lot about myself, God and the people surrounding me. I will share this with you in the coming days and weeks. Maybe a lot or maybe a little bit at a time. I really wanted to take part in the 31 Days this year but everything was just too hard. You’ll all “read” me in 2016 hopefully! Keep up the good writing and I enjoy “reading” all of you!

An unexpected mountain to climb.

So I am part of a network called Faithful Finish Lines. The aim of the group is to live a healthier life. It went really well the first two weeks and the beginning of the third week. I was really “being healthy” in all the “right” ways. Then I hit a road bump on Tuesday, an unexpected mountain to climb.

My dear Mom was diagnosed with cancer. It is still hard to say it because if you say it out loud it means that it is true. My first reaction was emotional eating and not wanting to exercise. By Friday I realized that I need to be fit and healthy to climb this mountain. I cannot let extra weight hold me back- I have a long road to travel. So as of Sunday I’m back on track(mostly)  and determined to walk this road physically and emotionally.

If it wasn’t for this amazing group at Faithful Finish Lines this whole process would’ve been harder. Thank you for your support!

This Bible verse got new meaning for me in the past few days.
